Arthur Majer’s advice for being the best office dog

Woof! Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Arthur Majer! That’s right, I’m Suzie and Henry’s  sausage dog, and I guess now, I work at Majer too! Earlier this week, we posted an article by the Undercover Recruiter highlighting the top 6 Benefits of Dogs in the Workplace.

We’re dog-lovers at Majer. What’s not to love? I mean, humans and dogs have evolved together over thousands of years to shape this special relationship. I’d like to share some of the best practices I’ve learned at Majer HQ that keep me and my co-workers happy at the office.

1. Fresh air anyone?

It’s nice for the Majer girls to take a break from working at their desks so they can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.  We get to go for a little wander around the James Street area in search of a little patch of grass for me!

I like giving them a reason to step outside and switch off for a while!

2. We need to use inside voices

So, when can we get back to playing again?  So, when can we get back to playing again?

We love to have fun at HQ, but we still mean business! That means I’m not to say a peep because phones are constantly ringing, and important interviews are being held within our space.  I wouldn’t want to distract anyone from doing their job.

3. I give cuddles when needed

I can sense when the humans are feeling stressed or down at work. It’s my duty to cheer them up with cuddles and play time!

It’s my favourite part of the gig. I know that when I get to play with them, the work the humans do will feel much more rewarding and they can re-focus on the task at hand. It’s always a good idea to take a breather; that’s what I’m here for.

4. I don’t need to work every day

I don’t come into work every day, and that’s okay! In fact, it makes it even more special when I do pop in for a visit. At Majer, we’re all about the work-life balance, and I have plenty of things to keep me entertained at home.

5. I mustn’t chew on anything other than my treats & my toys

I understand that being at the office is a privilege, not a right. Sometimes, I can’t help wanting attention but I need to remember that work comes first! I have lots of toys and treats to keep me busy while the girls are hard at work!

Do not chew or hide Suzie's shoes! Do not chew or hide Suzie’s shoes!
